Please join the University Park Woman’s Club as we welcome our guest speaker, Diana McDonough.
Diana McDonough is an award winning novelist and Maryland native. Her first novel, Stuck in the Onesies, grew out of her experiences living outside the nation’s capital in the Maryland suburbs back in the 1960s and 70s when social issues first bubbled to the surface in the form of marches and riots. My Mother’s Apprentice is the sequel to Stuck in the Onesies and the story of the next generation, dealing with the tough issues of abortion and addiction. It was awarded the bronze medal by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association in 2019. Diana is currently working on a third novel of historical fiction, Ginger Star, which will complete the trilogy. Ginger Star is expected to be released in mid-2022.
Diana is the mother of three and Grandy of twelve. She retired from Ecolab after 26 years to pursue her writing career full time. Diana helped to initiate the Ecolab E3 women’s advocacy group for this Fortune 500 Company. She also founded Woman to Woman Global, a non-profit that helped to scholarship and provide laptops for women that sought to further their education. She’s also a volunteer at a local elementary school and has a heart for special needs students.
Diana writes creative non-fiction, humor, and historical fiction. You can visit her website at www.dianamcdonough.com, sign up for her blog, and visit Facebook pages for both books. Her books are available through Amazon and local bookstores on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware. The Stuck in the Onesies audiobook is available through Audible at Amazon.
Diana’s books will be available for purchase during the UPWC meeting on October 3, 2022.
